GoogleNearMe.com ("we", "us", "our") is a local search directory that helps users find businesses and services near their location. We are not affiliated with Google LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect information when you use our website at googlenearme.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Location data — When you use our "Use My Current Location" feature, your browser shares your approximate GPS coordinates with us. We use this only to return nearby search results. We do not store your precise location after the search is complete.
  • Search queries — The addresses or location terms you type into our search boxes. These may be logged to improve result quality.
  • Usage data — Standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited and time of visit. This is standard for virtually all websites.
  • Cookies — We use cookies for Google Analytics (site traffic analysis) and Google AdSense (advertising). See Section 4 for details.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or any personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly through our contact form.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide local search results based on your location or address

4. Google services we use

Geoapify — We use Geoapify's API to retrieve nearby business data based on your location. Your coordinates are sent to Geoapify's servers to return results. Geoapify's own privacy policy governs their data handling.

Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites you visit. We use the following cookies:

  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid) — track site visits anonymously, expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively
  • Google AdSense cookies — used for ad personalisation and measurement

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some features on this site.

6. Data retention

Server access logs are retained for up to 90 days. Anonymised analytics data is retained for 26 months as per Google Analytics default settings. We do not retain precise location coordinates after your search is complete.

  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to opt out of targeted advertising
  • The right to data portability

Our search results include links to third-party websites (business websites, Google Maps). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any information.

10. Security

We use standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our site. However, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
